Real Popcorn

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup popping corn
  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil (such as grape seed)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt (I prefer my popcorn salty)

Tools

  • 6+ quart sauce pan with lid

Instructions

  1. Add 2 tablespoons oil to pot with 3 corn kernels over medium heat and cover.
  2. When 3 kernels pop, add remaining corn and shake with lid on.
  3. Melt butter while popcorn pops.
  4. Shake occasionally until the popping of kernels slows to 1-2 seconds between pops, usually between 2.5-3.5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and transfer to serving bowl.
  6. Pour butter over popcorn, season with 1 teaspoon Kosher salt, stir and serve immediately.

Ingredients, Pepper Parmesan Popcorn

  • 2 tablespoons truffle oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup finely grated Parmesan
  • Optional: Handful of minced fresh parsley

Ingredients, Sriracha Popcorn

  • Melted
    1. 1 tablespoon Sriracha
    2. 1 tablespoon Butter
    3. 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Ingredients, Salty Sweet Popcorn

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon superfine suger
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons melted butter
