Brussels Sprouts in Bacon


  • 2-3 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 pound Brussels sprouts
  • Salt, pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar


  • Skillet or saute pan with lid
  • Cutting board for Brussels
  • Cutting board for bacon


  1. Chop bacon
  2. Trim stems from Brussels and cut into quarters
  3. Cook bacon in skillet over medium-high heat until it starts to sizzle
  4. Reduce heat to medium, cook until fat is rendered (5-10 minutes)
  5. Add sprouts, 1/4 cup water, and sprinkle with salt and pepper
  6. Cover and cook, undisturbed, for 5 minutes
  7. Uncover, raise heat to medium-high, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-10 minutes
  8. Stir in vinegar and serve
